NAGA is excited to welcome Dr. Elena Behnke as one of the featured speakers for this year’s convention at the Astor Crowne Plaza French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana, February 6-8, 2023. Dr. Behnke is the Senior Coordinator for the National Poultry Improvement Plan with the US Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service – Veterinary Services.
Participation in NPIP is essential to being able to transport gamebirds across state lines and even within some states. Dr. Behnke will be sharing information about participation in the program and be able to answer questions from attendees.
With the tightest bird market in decades and hunting preserves searching for more available birds, it's critical to make sure all gamebird producers are aware of and participate in this vital program, which is a requirement to be eligible for indemnity.
Dr. Behnke will join us via livestream and will be able to field questions.
