The gamebird hunting industry faces three major threats: attacks on hunting, attacks on livestock agriculture and threats to the firearm industry that make hunting possible.
One of the industry’s strongest allies in protecting those freedoms is NSSF — The Firearm Industry Trade Association. In addition to being the largest financial supporter of the North American Gamebird Association for more than a decade, NSSF continues to lead efforts defending access to firearms, ammunition and the businesses that support hunting traditions nationwide.
As part of the 2026 NAGA Hunting Club Conference, sponsored by NSSF, Moriah Day, NSSF director of government relations — state affairs, will present “Threats to the Industry,” a timely look at the challenges currently facing the firearm industry and how they impact hunting preserves and shooting sports businesses.
“Anti-hunting and anti-farming groups know that if you cut off access to firearms and ammunition, the entire hunting preserve industry would be devastated,” said Dan Barngrover, chairman of the Hunting Club Conference. “Hunting clubs can play a key role in protecting our freedoms through their vast network across the country and the customers they serve.”
Designed by hunting preserve owners and operators, the Hunting Club Conference agenda covers topics focused on improving profitability, increasing customer satisfaction, protecting against disease threats and defending the future of the industry. NSSF has served as title sponsor of the conference all five years of its existence.
“NSSF is absolutely vital to the gamebird industry,” Barngrover said. “From government affairs work and industry research to promoting the shooting sports and supporting organizations financially, their impact is tremendous. In a key election year like 2026, their work is more important than ever. Anyone who makes their living in the gamebird industry should be a member of NSSF.”
The 2026 Hunting Club Conference will take place July 20-22 at the Embassy Suites Old Market in Omaha, Nebraska. Thanks to the generous support of sponsors, including NSSF, registration is just $375 per person and includes conference meals and evening hospitality hours. Combined with a discounted hotel rate of $129 per night, the event remains an affordable opportunity for hunting preserves of all sizes.
