NAGA Convention Highlights Political Threats to Gamebird Businesses

While most presentations at the NAGA Annual Convention are designed to make gamebird business more efficient or profitable, it would be a tremendous oversight to overlook external threats to hunting preserves and gamebird producers....

That’s why the first speaker to address attendees on January 22, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, will be Dr. Todd Adkins, the Vice President of Government Affairs for the Sportsmen's Alliance.

The Sportsmen’s Alliance is a longtime partner of NAGA and has fought many battles against the anti-hunting lobby that threatens the future of hunting preserves. Todd is a veteran of legislative, legal and ballot issue campaigns and has worked extensively on these issues across the country on behalf of the Sportsmen's Alliance and, previously, the National Rifle Association. Todd will share the current threat level and a look into the future for both hunting preserves and gamebird producers.

"Alone, a gamebird business has no chance to defeat attacks on our industry," explained NAGA President Peg Ballou. "But when we coordinate with the best experts in the business along with other organizations, we expand both our reach and our capabilities. This is the vital role that the Sportsmen's Alliance plays for NAGA, and why we ask them to give us a periodic update on the top challenges we face.”

The Sportsmen's Alliance last addressed the NAGA Convention in 2016 at the same hotel where the event will be this year: the Holiday Inn Disney Springs from January 22 – 24, 2024. This is just one of many vitally important presentations attendees will hear at the Convention.
