Krug’s Northwoods Gamebirds Becomes Diamond Sponsor

the family business is strengthening its longtime support of NAGA and the gamebird industry....

A gamebird business on the verge of celebrating its 50th birthday just became the 13th NAGA member to upgrade to the organization’s highest level of membership. Krug’s Northwoods Gamebirds, located in Medford, Wisconsin is a second-generation family farm started by Susie Krug, a stay-at-home mom in 1977 with just three pheasants and a Sears & Roebuck incubator.

Daughter Jenny Krug Rothmeier, who now owns the business, has grown the operation to 800,000 pheasant chicks per season, raising 92,000 to maturity, and she continues this legacy today, involving her kids in the business, including their active participation in both the Annual Convention and the Hunting Club Conference. Jenny also served on the NAGA board of directors and several volunteer committees.

She’s grateful for her community and the association that’s supported her during challenging times. “I could never repay what’s been given to us,” she said.

But that hasn’t stopped her from trying. Krug’s Northwoods Gamebirds has been a Sponsor Member for many years and has also sponsored both the Convention and Hunting Club Conference as well as advertising in NAGA publications. Her commitment to NAGA’s highest level of membership is a great vote of confidence that helps attract others to support the organization.

NAGA created the Diamond Sponsor Membership for gamebird businesses that desire to give something back to the industry and the association that protects it.

“We’re so proud to count Jenny and her family as Diamond Sponsors,” said NAGA President Sarah Pope of MacFarlane Pheasants. “Their successes and recognition of the need to give back sets a great example.”
