Hurricane Relief Funding Available for Georgia Producers

The Georgia Department of Agriculture has opened a Hurricane Relief Block Grant Program, providing significant funding to assist producers with recovery. This program includes poultry operations and may apply to many of our gamebird producers.

Coverage May Include:

  • Loss of birds (including quail, pheasant, chukar, etc.)
  • Damage to pens, flight pens, and facilities
  • Feed losses
  • Production interruptions

In addition to the state program, the USDA offers disaster assistance programs that may provide further support, including:

  • Livestock Indemnity Program – for death losses
  • Emergency Assistance for Livestock – feed and operational losses
  • Emergency Loans – for rebuilding and recovery

  1. Apply for the Georgia Block Grant before the April 27 deadline
  2. Contact your local USDA FSA office to report losses and explore additional assistance
