Recently, NAGA announced it would be conducting an economic impact survey of the gamebird industry. This survey will measure the financial impact American pheasant, quail and partridge growers and hunting preserves have on the national economy. It will measure jobs created, tax base and total impact on the economy. The research has been funded by our partners, NSSF – The Firearm Industry Trade Association.
The last time this research was conducted was in 2014. It’s a useful tool gamebird businesses and NAGA can use to demonstrate how important our industry is to government, jobs, taxes and the overall economy. It’s been used to promote and protect the gamebird industry in meetings with members of Congress, state legislatures, governors, state and federal agencies and in media interviews. But the data has grown old and must be updated.
NAGA has retained the nation’s top research firm on the economics of outdoor recreation, Southwick Associates. This is also the same firm that conducted the research 10 years ago. When you receive an email from Southwick Associates, you’ll know it’s the NAGA Survey – not spam.
The survey will ask for specific information about your business in order to compile industry averages. However, your information will be kept 100% confidential. Southwick will not be sharing your information with NAGA, other gamebird businesses, government agencies or any other member of the public – it will only be used to develop an average economic picture of the industry.
When you receive the survey, please complete it quickly, as it will ensure the timely completion of the overall project. If you have any questions, please contact Rob Sexton, NAGA Executive Director, at Rob@NorthAmericanGamebird.com.
