The name “non-profit” can be a bit misleading to people. When an organization is categorized as a non-profit, there’s an inclination to think that raising money isn’t a priority. Nothing could be farther from the truth for an advocacy organization that was created to represent and defend an entire industry. NAGA is the voice of the gamebird industry to government officials, the public, the media and other industries. Whether it be lawyers, lobbyists, researchers or consultants, our mission means NAGA will spend whatever is necessary to make sure our way of life thrives now and in the future. And to do that, like all non-profits, we must raise money.
Fundraising doesn’t have to be a drab exercise, however. Like many non-profits NAGA events feature fundraising programs meant to make the exercise fun, while also supporting our cause. Thanks to our sponsor, Flying B Ranch, the NAGA Hunting Club Conference will feature a live and silent auction component and raffles that all benefit the mission.
Last week NAGA announced the Mossberg Early Bird Promotion in which anyone registered for the conference by the close of business on June 25 is automatically entered to win a Mossberg 940 Pro Field semi-auto 12-gauge. That prize will be awarded during the Welcome Dinner sponsored by Romeo Bravo Software on Monday, July 15. Register here to make sure you’re in the drawing.
The following night will feature two additional gun raffles. The first shotgun, a commemorative Franchi Instinct L over/under 12-gauge sponsored by an anonymous donor. Tickets are $20 each or seven for $100.
The second shotgun will surely be a favorite, as one attendee will win a commemorative CZ Bobwhite SXS 28-gauge sponsored by York Ag. Tickets are also $20 each of seven for $100.
The gun raffle deal is back by popular demand. You can be in both drawings for $30 each or seven tickets in each drawing for $150.
The 2022 and 2023 Hunting Club Conference included a silent auction in addition to the raffles. This year, our Auction Chairman, Rick Kuhl, Jr. of the Kuhl Corporation, is seeking donations for both a live and silent auction. Those interested in donating to the two auctions can bring their items to Sioux Falls or arrange to ship them to the hotel ahead of time. In either case, please email Rick at 2kuhl2@kuhlcorp.com.
The raffles, silent auctions and shotgun giveaways brought to you by Flying B Ranch, benefit NAGA and the programs the organization operates to protect the gamebird industry from the farm all the way to the hunting preserve.
