Forsgren’s Pheasant Farm, a longtime NAGA member and supporter of the gamebird industry based in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, has upgraded its membership to NAGA’s top-tier Diamond Sponsor level.
“We really appreciate all that NAGA has done for us and the industry,” Mike Forsgren said when informing NAGA President Sarah Pope and Executive Director Rob Sexton of the decision.
Mike became increasingly active with NAGA in 2017 as part of a delegation of gamebird farms that traveled to Capitol Hill to protect indemnity for low pathogenic avian influenza. He previously served on the NAGA Health Committee during an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in 2015-16.
Following the successful trip to Washington, D.C., Mike was elected to the NAGA Board of Directors in 2019 and re-elected in 2022. At the 2024 NAGA Convention in Orlando, Florida, the board elected Mike second vice president of the association, putting him in line to serve as president beginning in 2028.
Mike and his son, Colby, have been active supporters of the convention each year and continue to serve on NAGA’s all-volunteer committees.
“NAGA created the Diamond Sponsor Membership in 2013 at a time when the association was implementing a plan to increase membership and strengthen the organization,” Pope said. “Although Diamond Sponsors receive some additional benefits, the $2,500 membership is really a generous gift that signals strong support for the work the association does. We’re very grateful for Forsgren’s Pheasant Farm’s commitment.”
