"Vern was my first cover photo when I was editor of the magazine. He had earned man of the year award in 2013. He was also the impetus in my starting our family field day at Elkhorn in 1997, after his input at our national convention. Personally, and professionally, he will leave a big gap," said Peg Ballou, President of the North American Gamebird Association. "NAGA sends our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to Claudette and the entire Beavers family that has played such an integral part of our association."
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, October 25, at Robson Funeral Home, 620 North Main Street, Garden City, Kansas. Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Thursday, October 26, at the Pierceville Federated Church.
