The Firearm Industry Connection to Hunting Preserves

How NSSF helps protect the future of hunting preserves and why their support is vital to the Hunting Club Conference...

On its face, the connection between firearms companies and businesses that provide upland gamebird hunting opportunities is an obvious one. To put it succinctly, you can’t hunt without a firearm and ammunition. But to the great fortune of the gamebird industry and the North American Gamebird Association, the firearm industry is much more engaged in our success than that.

NSSF — The Firearm Industry Trade Association is the title sponsor of the 5th Annual NAGA Hunting Club Conference. And they have been since the inaugural event in 2022. The conference was designed to be an affordable option that would allow hunting preserves of any size to attend and even send multiple people to learn, network and build stronger relationships vital to our ongoing success.

The support of our sponsors, led by NSSF, is key to keeping reasonable registration costs that also include the cost of meals and other associated conference expenses. This year, NSSF is also a presenter at the conference, as Moriah Day, director of government relations, state affairs, will present “Threats to the Industry,” which will highlight the challenges that could harm the supply chain that equips hunters with their favorite shotguns and ammunition.

NSSF is the voice and fighting arm on behalf of firearms and ammunition manufacturers and employs a robust staff of government affairs experts and attorneys across the country and in Washington, D.C., who repel repeated attacks from the anti-gun lobby. And while many of the attacks focus on firearms unrelated to upland gamebird hunting, the intent of the attacks is to deny manufacturers commerce in the most popular and profitable firearms, thereby eliminating viable firearms companies used by hunters. That is why NAGA is such a visible and vocal supporter of NSSF.

“We strongly encourage NAGA members to also be members of NSSF,” explained NAGA Executive Director Rob Sexton. “They’ve been a vital partner to us in multiple ways, and their relationship to our success cannot be overstated. Their presence at the Hunting Club Conference will help attendees understand the ongoing need for our strong partnership.”
