Sporting Clays Industry Leader to Speak at 2027 NAGA Convention. Michael Hampton Jr. will discuss opportunities for collaboration to protect hunting and shooting sports....
Collaboration is essential to the success of the gamebird industry. From firearms and agriculture to veterinary medicine, NAGA regularly works with allied industries to address shared challenges and strengthen opportunities for its members.
The 2027 NAGA Convention, Feb. 1-3 in San Antonio, Texas, offers another opportunity to build valuable partnerships.
San Antonio is home to the National Skeet Shooting Association and National Sporting Clays Association, the governing bodies for their respective sports. With nationwide networks of clubs and businesses offering skeet and sporting clays, these organizations are natural partners for NAGA, whose membership includes many gamebird businesses that also offer clay target shooting.
NAGA board member and Hunting Club Conference Chairman Dan Barngrover of Longtail Farms in Kansas recognized the opportunity and suggested inviting the organizations to participate in the convention. Their executive director, Michael Hampton Jr., gladly accepted.
Hampton will kick off the morning session Wednesday, Feb. 3, sponsored by MacFarlane Pheasants Inc., with a presentation titled "Coordinating Between the Gamebird Industry and Sporting Clays Industry to Protect Hunting and Shooting." He'll also have opportunities to network with NAGA members throughout the convention.
"When it comes to protecting hunting and the shooting sports, we need all the allies we can find," Barngrover said. "Once I realized these clay target shooting organizations were headquartered where we'll spend several days, I didn't want us to miss the chance to make new connections that benefit NAGA members. We're pleased to have Michael join us."
