Learn cover management strategies from wildlife experts and top hunting preserve operators at the Hunting Club Conference....
Perhaps second only to good pointing and flushing dogs, nothing helps – or hurts – the quality of an upland gamebird hunting experience more than poor cover. Watching birds run out of range because they spot hunters too early can quickly diminish customer satisfaction at a hunting preserve.
That’s why cover management will be the focus of two separate presentations at the 5th Anniversary Edition of the NAGA Hunting Club Conference. The conference agenda is developed from suggestions submitted by gamebird hunting preserve operators and ranked by a committee to identify the industry’s most valuable topics. Each year, cover management ranks among the most requested subjects.
On Tuesday, July 21 at 1:45 p.m., Land & Legacy’s Frank Loncarich will present “Building Habitat for Upland Gamebirds.” Loncarich has worked as a professional wildlife biologist since 2004 and has managed thousands of acres of grasslands, woodlands and forests throughout his career. His work has focused heavily on using historical processes to manage landscapes for wildlife habitat.
Building on that expert perspective, attendees will also hear firsthand experiences from two of the nation’s premier hunting preserves. On Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., Lloyd Marks of Wisconsin’s Milford Hills and John Tuck of Alabama’s Preserve at Tuck Farms will present “Cover Management Options – What Works, Why and Where.”
“Between these two presentations, I think we’ve really provided a lot of firsthand knowledge and expert advice,” said Dan Barngrover, chairman of the 2026 Hunting Club Conference. “People will be able to interact with and ask questions of all three presenters to help improve and maintain high-quality cover throughout the season.”
Don’t miss these two outstanding presentations along with a packed agenda featuring education, networking and entertainment at the Embassy Suites Old Market in Omaha, Nebraska, July 20-22.
