APHIS Releases Updated Indemnity Values for 2026

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has released updated indemnity values for 2026 and early 2027...

For the fourth consecutive year, NAGA conducted an industrywide indemnity value survey to provide APHIS with accurate, up-to-date data for consideration when updating its figures.

Each year, NAGA surveys farms to gather average values for eggs, chicks and mature birds. Using that information, the organization develops industry average values for birds in three-week age increments through maturity. NAGA also proposes average breeder bird values based on the survey data.

From 2022-25, NAGA compiled data on pheasants, chukar partridge, French red-legged/Hungarian partridge and quail. In 2025, the organization added mallard ducks to the survey. The survey is conducted each October and November, with findings submitted to APHIS in December for agency consideration.

APHIS released its updated figures on April 9.
